All famous directors started with a super 8 or VHS camcorder in their backyard filming their younger siblings, or maybe even their dog, in costume playing the part of some sort of action hero. For documentarians, the first step to their career goal may take place on youtube. Now I have no idea who Sean Cunningham is, but I do know he created one heck of a mini documentary on the impact of “The Karate Kid”.

In these five short youtube videos, Cunningham takes you through the struggle, comedy, heartache, empowerment, and his own personal triumph caused by Ralph Macchio’s most famous film. This documentary is by no means perfect, but its about as close as you are going to find on youtube. So without further ado, I present “Bonsai: The Karate Kid Fan Documentary”

Diablo Cody and John Cusack are the latest hip movie personalities to interview each other, and I use that third to last word lightly, on Myspace’s Artist on Artist. I completely forgot about this little series of free videos, very similar to IFC’s Iconoclast, yet not as pretentious; after all it is on Myspace. The best part, these ditties are limited to a few minutes in length, perfect for short attention spans and ideal for turning off when the artists in question can’t stop congratulating each other on how great they are.

So go ahead and watch them all here. In addition to interviews with musicians, writers, comedians, and musicians on writers, comedians on musicians and so on, Artist on Artist interviews include Wes Anderson/Owen Wilson, Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriquez, Josh Brolin/Eli Roth, Rob Zombie/Rainn Wilson………
