Indy Jones
This being an Indie film blog I thought it only appropriate to at least mention Indy Jones’ new flick; something about a crystal skull. Well while every other media outlet in existence is covering this film’s release today, I thought I would have to approach it from a different angle. Now this would be hard work. So luckily, I found someone to do it for me. Scouring the web to bring you the best and brightest film info, I found a great post over at filmbabble titled “Ten Self Reverential or Crossover Moments in the Films of Lucas and Spielburg”.
This list, complete with screen captures is enlightening to say the least. It is one thing for the Disney animators to disguise dirty words in “The Little Mermaid”, but here we see tiny intricate details of various Lucaspielburg films that I am surprised caught the attention of any filmgoer. Then again, when you are on your thirtieth viewing of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” and you haven’t showered in three days because your imperial trooper costume is stuck, you are bound to notice this brief appearance of E.T.
