Dawn of Dead, 3D
There is a horror movie epidemic as of late. One so devastating, so apocalyptic, as to saturate the market with boring, cliched, an unoriginal movies that make zombies out of audience members the world over. That is unless we are talking about classic horror films revitalized in 3D!!! That is just cool.
Today, the Hollywood Reporter brings news that George A. Romero’s 1978 classic zombie flick “Dawn of the Dead” is to be ” dimensionalized to stereoscopic 3-D” and brought to one of the 1,000 3D capable theaters near you. The only other film to receive this expensive process was Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas”. This is a painstacking process which must be done to each frame of the film, costs a mindwopping $50,000 to $100,000 per minute of screamtime. Money well spent if you ask me.
I, like many children of the sloppy horror film generation, was not around to see a classic like this in a grab your date at the scary parts theater experience. So the opportunity to see this classic amongst an audience, and in 3D none the less, is an exciting idea.
Sidenote: In a weird twist of events, Mr. Romero filmed a video of my eight grade graduation, a true story for another day yes, but can you imagine what my adolescent self would look like in 3D!!!!!!!!. Oh wait, I guess we are all in 3D in real life. Now that is scary.

Bret Easton Ellis strikes again; Wayfarers, New Order, drugs, sex, and rich LA brats. Welcome to the first look at “The Informers”, the film adaptation of Ellis’s 1994 novel of the same name in which he also wrote the screenplay.

In the 1950’s Hollywood was producing around forty westerns per year, that number fell to twenty during the 60’s, around ten per year in the 1970’s through 90’s, and in the new millennium, we are lucky to get five westerns each year. But when those westerns are of the caliber of 2007’s “3:10 [...]
